Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS)
- EIS is designed to help newly trading companies raise money by offering tax reliefs to individual investors who buy new shares in your company.
- SEIS allows you to receive a maximum of £150,000 in the 3 years up to and including the date of investment.
- EIS allows you to raise up to £5m each year, and a maximum of £12m in your company’s lifetime.
- This also includes amounts received from other venture capital schemes (i.e. funds raised from SEIS will contribute to this amount).
- There are various rules you must follow for both SEIS and EIS so your investors can claim and keep tax reliefs relating to their shares.
